After last weeks heinous acts of one loan criminal, the UK government yet again use such shock tactics to crusade their argument for mass surveillance on its people ! This is ridiculous at best. Any such action will not only force a mass exodus of businesses to other jurisdictions in order to protect themselves and their clients. But will also leave a police state , weak digital encryption for U.K. Nationals, to then become the Hackers/Foreign Governments global easy targets. A country devoid of technical momentum , excellence and forward innovations .

There has been lots of discussion in the past weeks, which is sure to continue; about the role that end-to-end encryption plays in criminal and terrorist activity around the world. One of the common misconceptions in these stories is that end-to-end encryption technology can effectively allow people to ‘go dark’ and communicate invisibly. In the below comment Jonathan Parker-Bray, CEO of Criptyque, makers of the newly launched, secure communications solution Pryvate, explains why this is not the case and proposes a radically different approach for addressing malicious mobile phone use in the UK.
